To Blog... or Not To Blog...

Blog, To Blog or not To Blog

So a week or so ago, I wrote this long drawn out post about why I haven't show up around here in forever, and how I was going to stop blogging, and blah blah blah. It's really a long story, and I decided not to put it up. Obviously. So edited version here we come! Oh, and before I tell you why I decided to stop being a blogger, I'll let you in on a secret that I'm going to keep blogging as long as I can. You'll understand in a second.

I graduate with my B.A. in Psychology and Justice studies in May. Holy wow. And eventually I want to get my Masters in Clinical Social Work. I know right? And when I am finally doing what I want to do, I'm going to have clients who are going to look me up and want to know more about me. And guess what? It's hugely important that they don't have any details of my personal life. And guess what I blog about? My personal life.

Are you seeing the issue here? My professors have been harping on this and about taking anything and everything personal off of the internet. It kills me. This is why I haven't blogged since my first week of classes. Well that and I can begin to explain how busy I am. There will be a planner post. But back to the first week of classes/last time I posted, that's when my professors shared the obvious but not obvious news that when your clients want to learn more about/stalk/creep on you, they're going to turn to the internet first. Not only did it creep me out a bit, but I swear I had an epiphany. However, I have been agonizing over not posting, and I figure I have until May, right? Procrastination at its best, my friends. Seriously.

So, get ready because I have a ton of posts I wrote and planned to put up and then... well all that happened. As well as some ideas because HELLO! Halloween is in a few days, and then...drum roll please...My Black Friday Guides will be coming out! Woohoo!

Okay okay okay. I seriously just wrote this in 3 minutes flat because I'm so excited that I've decided to allow myself to blog. You have no idea. Now on to the 5 zillion other posts I've been dying to write. See you soon dolls!

  1. I have had similar dilemmas as I will hopefully be a practicing lawyer this time next year. Thankfully, most of my blog is not super personal, but I've been concerned about how professional my blogging is overall to my career. I have finally decided that I've had 2 in about 20 people in my career field react hesitantly to the concept of blogging (without seeing my blog), but overall I have received good reactions and nothing about unprofessionalism.
