Happy November! Oh boy am I excited for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Speaking of, it's officially crunch time for Black Friday planning, but don't worry! I have helpful Black Friday guides that will be posted through out the month to help you figure out where to go, what's worth it to buy, as well as some tips and tricks to getting through the night. Before I get into that though, I wanted to do a quick Halloween recap.
Thursday (the 30th) my roommate and I went out. I went as a biker chick (Ride or Die) and she went as a scarecrow. We had so much fun, and met tons of people! On Halloween night, we actually stayed in. We got Halloween candy from Walmart for pretty cheap, take out, and watched Halloweentown. Talk about a perfect night!
Okay, moving on. Since I'm going to be posting quite a bit about Black Friday, I wanted to clear some things up first.
1. If you don't know what Black Friday is...Yikes. Patrick Star wants his rock back. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. Everyone goes out Christmas shopping (or pretending it's for Christmas) and stores open really early and mark some items way down.
2. I love Thanksgiving. It really bothers me when people disregard Thanksgiving and focus all their attention on Black Friday. I love both days, and don't think one should overshadow the other. I'm also strongly against stores opening up Thanksgiving night. I think it's disrespectful to the holiday, the workers, and families. Just wait till midnight, jeesh!
3. Just because I shop on Black Friday, it doesn't mean I'm not still thankful. Every year I hear jokes about how people go from being thankful for what they have, to being greedy and needing more in a matter of hours. That's not even why I like Black Friday. I'm very thankful for everything in my life, and I enjoy the atmosphere and fun aspects of Black Friday. I don't even buy a ton of things. I just get things I've been needing that were too expensive for me to justify before going on sale. Kitchen appliances anyone? I'm serious.
Now that that is out of the way, I am beyond excited for this month. I love thanksgiving. I love the food, hanging out with family, football, the parade, getting all dressed up and pretty... I just love it. I love Black Friday because it's fun. Have you ever people watched on Black Friday? It's like going through someones trash. You learn things about them you probably didn't want to know.
What are you excited for this month? Do you go Black Friday Shopping? Let me know!
Also, if there is anything Black Friday related that you would like to see a post about, let me know!
