Rude People at the Post Office
Good morning! It's 11:45 and I already have a story to tell you. I feel like today is going to be one of those event-filled days. Anyway, I went to the post office this morning, on my way to babysitting, to ship my Love in a Box package to Tiffany! Let me tell you, it was quite an experience.
When I walked in, there was already a line of about 6 people, and within five minutes there was at least 10 people in line behind me. Oh, and there was only one poor employee helping everyone. It was fantastic. As I was standing there, trying not to look annoyed, these three ladies in front of me started whispering not so quietly. They were bashing on the guy who was helping everyone, and making snide remarks about how he should "grow a brain" and ask another employee for help. Mind you, all these ladies were easily in their forties.
It annoyed me. If you're going to make a comment like that, you should at least have enough tact to not say it loudly enough for the person to hear. It made me think of Mean Girls. Just saying. Finally one of the ladies goes, "Excuse me? I don't know if you've noticed the line, but I think you should go get someone to help," all sweetly. I have to admit, I wanted to kick the back of her knees.
The employee then said, "Thanks I have noticed the line. I'm actually the only one here, and I'm not even supposed to be... So no, I can't," and continued helping his current customer. He totally deserved a pat on the back, and that lady zipped her smack talking lips after that. Like, HELLO people, if he had someone there to help him, don't you think he would have already asked for help? No need to be snarky.
So, that's my story of the morning. I was there for 25 minutes, which sucked, but it's a college campus post office, so what do you expect? I also realized at the end, that I could have dropped my package off at the other counter. I'm working on my common sense. Anyway, how's your morning going?
