Friday Five- Food!

Yay! It's time for another Friday Five! This is going to be another week that has a focus, so get excited to see five foods/drinks I've been loving! Having a milk allergy can be quite a hassle when it comes to finding foods I like, and can eat. These foods and drinks are what get me through the week...for the most part.

1. Delimex Chicken Taquitos

I can't even begin to explain my love for these yummy taquitos. First of all, they are dairy (and gluten) free! I love them because I can pop them in the microwave and eat them on the go if I'm in a rush, and they're super filling! They are nearly impossible to find though. I have scoured every Market Basket, Hannaford, Shaws, and Target, and I can only find the Delimex brand at Walmart. Delimex is also the only brand I've found that even carries dairy free taquitos, so good for them!
2. Immaculate Gluten Free Fudge Brownie Cookie Dough

These cookies...Man. I've had a hard time finding pre-made chocolate chip cookie dough that is dairy free, and I lucked out with the Immaculate brand! Oh how I have missed chocolate...Anyway, whether you are dairy/gluten free or not, you will probably absolutely love these cookies if you give them a try.

3. Super Pretzel Soft Pretzels

Okay, so one thing other than mac n cheese that I craved a lot once I cut dairy, was the yummy pretzels you can get at the mall. Mmmm. Anyway, I found the Super Pretzel brand of soft pretzels, and they totally took my craving away. First off, they are dairy free -duh or else I wouldn't be eating them. But if you put a little Earth Balance butter on them before you bake them, they literally taste as good as the ones from the mall. Also, I'm pretty sure they're vegan if you're in to that.

4. Mountain Dew-  Okay so I drink an unhealthy amount of Mountain Dew and I have no problem admitting it. I gave it up for new years last year -and didn't cave- and I will never do that again. I'm not a coffee drinker, so Mountain Dew is...well basically my life. No shame. And yes, I know about the chemicals in it, and yes, I know you can use it to make glow sticks, and yes, I know it's been banned in a few countries. Whatever. Anyway, I am definitely loving Mountain Dew this week and every week...
5. Ocean Spray Cranberry Raspberry Juice- I've tried tons of different cranberry juice brands, as well as combinations (cranberry grape, cranberry apple, etc.) and so far, the Ocean Spray Cranberry Raspberry juice is my absolute favorite. It's sweet, but not too sweet. And it's not sour like plain cranberry juice can be sometimes...It's just good, and if you are a cranberry juice lover, then you've definitely got to try it.
That's it for my Friday Five. Hope you enjoyed the food focus this week! Let me know if you've tried/love any of the foods I mentioned!

Just a little side note. I am not gluten free, I don't try to be gluten free, and I couldn't care less about gluten. However, I've been unable to find many dairy free brands, and most gluten free food brands tend to also be dairy free... so it just works out that I eat a lot of gluten free foods. Jeesh.

  1. OMG #2 & #3 look amazing!! I don't eat meat, so I can relate to the complications finding foods! I also don't drink milk, but there's no way I could live without cheese!!
